Welcome to Trauma Counseling, Consulting, and Advocacy: What We Offer and How We Can Help
At TraumaCCA, we know that facing and healing from trauma is not a simple or linear journey. It’s deeply personal, often feeling lonely, confusing, or even overwhelming. We want to begin by saying: you’re not alone here. Whether you’re arriving after years of searching for help, or you’re just beginning to ask questions about things you’ve experienced, there’s room for you in this community.
Honoring Both Story and Science
Our practice started with our own lived stories—navigating the rough edges of trauma, stumbling through faith questions, and wrestling with things that didn’t have easy answers. That personal experience is at the core of TraumaCCA. We come alongside you not only as professionals, but as people who truly understand how heavy trauma can be. We offer care that treats you as a whole person, integrating both the best of current science and the wisdom of spiritual traditions. Here, you don’t have to choose between clinical support and honoring your faith and values. There is space for all of who you are.
What Is Trauma?
Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope. It can result from a wide range of events, including but not limited to:
• Physical or sexual abuse
• Domestic violence
• Loss of a loved one
• Natural disasters
• Accidents or serious illness
• Witnessing violence or community trauma
• Childhood neglect or abandonment
Every individual experiences trauma uniquely, and its effects can linger or resurface years later, impacting mental health, relationships, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
The Importance of Trauma-Informed Care
Healing from trauma is a deeply individualized process. Trauma-informed care recognizes the complex ways trauma can impact every part of life—emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. This framework is foundational in all we do at TraumaCCA. Our approach:
• Prioritizes safety and trust, ensuring you are always in control of your healing process.
• Empowers survivors through collaborative, nonjudgmental support.
• Seeks to avoid re-traumatization by moving at your pace and honoring your boundaries.
Our Approach: The Four Streams
Trauma often splinters life into separate, hurting parts. Our work is about gently weaving things back together. We organize our care around four streams that are always flowing through each human story:
• Spirit: Where questions of faith, meaning, identity, purpose, and spirituality live. Healing here might look like wrestling with God, reclaiming hope, or simply finding space to breathe.
• Soul: Emotions, mind, will, self-talk, personal history, and our self-perception. We help you name and untangle lies shaped by pain, so truths can take root.
• Body: Trauma lives in our nervous systems, muscles, and even our sleep. We slow down to listen to what your body has been holding, supporting healing somatically as well as cognitively.
• Relationships: Healing is hardest to do alone. We guide you in building, repairing, or reimagining connections—forging safety with others and with yourself.
What You’ll Find Here

• Deeply Trauma-Informed: Your safety and agency are always our top priority, at every step.
Community, Advocacy, and Support Beyond the Therapy Room
Trauma is not just an individual issue—it can affect whole families, communities, organizations, and systems. At TraumaCCA, consulting and advocacy are vital to our mission. We train corporations, organizations, schools, and faith communities to recognize trauma, create supportive environments, and foster resilience. Our advocates connect you to resources, guide you through complex systems, and work to dismantle barriers to justice and healing.
